A note on wellbeing

The practices here are ordinary things — sitting quietly, walking among trees, tidying a small corner, warming yourself in a bath, noticing a season pass. People have done them for a very long time, and mostly they are simply good company for a day.

Ren Garden shares them as culture and as everyday habit. It is not medical or psychological advice, it is not treatment, and Mori is not a clinician. Nothing here is meant to replace care from a doctor, therapist or other professional, and nothing here should be used to delay it.

Use your own judgement. If a practice hurts, unsettles you, or does not sit well with a condition you live with, set it down and speak with someone qualified. Practices involving cold water, heat, fasting or long stillness deserve extra care.

Where a practice mentions research, it is offered as background reading rather than a promise. Each practice page says plainly whether the evidence is exploratory or better established, and what has been adapted for modern life.

If you need someone now

If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, please do not sit with it alone. In Canada, call or text 9-8-8 (Suicide Crisis Helpline) at any hour, or call 911 in an emergency. Elsewhere, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line in your country.

Questions about the practices or the sources behind them are welcome — see About.
