Terms of use and subscription terms

Ren Garden is operated by Awlad Hussain, carrying on business as Lifease Studio (“we”, “us”).

Ren Garden shares Japanese practices, concepts and customs, adapted for everyday modern life, together with a personal planner (the Techo) and optional reminders. It is a cultural and educational service. It is not health care, therapy, or professional advice — please see the wellbeing note.

You may browse a limited part of the library without an account. Creating an account unlocks more. Keep your sign-in details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. You may close your account at any time by writing to us.

Prices are in Canadian dollars. No tax is added at checkout — the amount shown is the amount charged. There are no set-up fees, delivery costs or other additional charges.

Where an introductory or limited-time price is shown, the regular price is displayed alongside it and the offer applies for as long as it is shown on the upgrade page.

Payment is made by credit or debit card through Stripe's secure hosted checkout. The first payment is taken when you complete checkout, and each renewal payment is taken automatically on the same card at the start of each new period.

Premium is a personal, non-transferable subscription for one account. Ren Garden shares cultural practices for everyday life; it is not health care or professional advice. You need an account, an internet connection and a supported browser.

Practice text, illustrations and Mori's writing are ours and are for your personal use. Please do not republish or resell them. Linked articles, books and talks belong to their own authors and publishers and are offered as further reading.

Your subscription renews automatically at the same amount and interval until you cancel. You may cancel at any time from your account; your access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.

To cancel, open your Techo and choose “Manage subscription”, which opens the secure Stripe billing portal, or write to lifease.studio@gmail.com.

Cancelling stops future renewals. Amounts already paid for the current period are generally not refunded, except where a refund is required by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other applicable consumer protection law.

When you subscribe, we email you a written copy of your subscription agreement. It sets out your name, the date the agreement was entered into, our name and contact details, what the service includes, the amount and currency, tax treatment, the recurring amount and billing frequency, the payment method, and the renewal, cancellation and refund terms. It is sent within 15 days after the agreement is entered into — in practice, immediately after checkout — in a form you can keep, print or save, and it stays available from your Techo.

We aim to keep Ren Garden available, but it may occasionally be interrupted for maintenance or reasons beyond our control. If we change these terms or the price of an ongoing subscription, we will tell subscribers by email before the change applies to them, and you may cancel if you do not agree.

Ren Garden is offered as it is, for personal use. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 or other applicable law that cannot be excluded.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute.
